WEB EXCLUSIVE: Preston North End v Reading Match Preview

Preston North End will play host to Reading this weekend as both sides look to grab three points in what is set to be an important weekend in the Championship.

As we enter the final ten games of the season, PNE are sat in 9th place, part of the pack clinging on to the play-off chase for dear life.

Whilst The Royals are sat in 5th place, but they wont be resting on their laurels with several tough fixtures over the next few weeks, beginning at Deepdale.

Both sides played on Tuesday night, and both games ended all square, Reading held top of the table Newcastle at home whilst Preston scored in the 95th minute to rescue a point in Derby.

These two last faced off on the first day of the season, that one ended 1-0 to Reading in a game which Preston ended with 29% possession.

This time will hopefully be different for Simon Grayson’s side as they have a totally different look to how they were back in August.

The home side’s right-back situation continues as all Tyias Browning, Marnick Vermijl, Calum Woods and Alex Baptiste all remain sidelined.

Andy Boyle put a good performance in on his debut at the heart of the defence on Tuesday night and will be hoping to stay in the team for the weekend.

Meanwhile, the visitors will be without Tiago Ilori, Deniss Rakels, Callum Harriott, Stephen Quinn, Danzel Gravenberch and Sandro Weiser who are all still out of action.

Gareth McCleary returned to the side on Tuesday night after injury and it is thought that Japp Stam will allow him to keep his place after a solid individual performance.
