WEB EXCLUSIVE: Blackpool v Morecambe Preview

Morecambe will travel to Bloomfield Road for a Lancashire Derby against local rivals Blackpool.

Just two points separate the two teams with the home side, who are in 15th, are one place below their opponents.

In the reverse fixture at the Globe Arena, Brad Potts fired the Seasiders ahead before Morecambe came back to win 2-1 thanks to goals from Jack Dunn and Michael Rose.

The Shrimps come into this tie on the back of a four-game unbeaten run after fighting back to snatch a point at Fratton Park.

Despite a glut of problems off the pitch, Jim Bentley has managed to rally his players to lose just once since the turn of the year.

Meanwhile, the Tangerines haven’t won at home since November and have drawn 2-2 in their last three games.

After spurning two-goal leads in successive weeks, Gary Boywer’s side showed great character to come back from two goals down to draw 2-2 against Barnet.

Bowyer will be without goalkeeper Sam Slocombe who is out with a thigh muscle injury and has told the media that a number of players will be assessed before kick-off.

Bentley will be without the suspended Rose who picked up his 10th booking of the season whilst Aaron Wildig is a doubt after picking up a knock.
