Preston travel to the capital this weekend to face Fulham who sit just one point ahead of North End in the league.
The fixture marks this year’s Gentry Day for the visitors, an annual tradition which is set up by supporters to remember the fans who have passed away in the last 12 months in which they dress up in their best suits and bowler hats, the name comes from the phrase by Alan Ball Senior in the 1970s who said ‘Preston North End fans are the best, they’re the gentry.’
The fixture is a big one in this season’s play-off chase with Fulham currently sat in seventh and Preston in ninth, both still in with a good shout of squeezing in to the top six.
The reverse fixture between the two sides came back in August in which The Cottagers came away with a 2-1 win, although the game ended in controversial fashion when Jermaine Beckford’s late header was disallowed for offside, despite the striker being two yards onside.
Simon Grayson still has a bit of a selection headache for this one, particularly in the right-back area, where the club currently has four out injured, Tyias Browning, Alex Baptiste, Calum Woods and Marnick Vermijl.
Although, key man Ben Pearson is back in contention after missing out last week.
Meanwhile, Lucas Piazon is ruled out for the hosts after suffering a broken jaw last week, but it is thought Slavisa Jokanovic is hoping to make a few changes to his matchday squad for this one.
